Photography business coaching
You’ve already learned how to master the camera. Now let’s build a business that actually supports you.
Real-world photography business mentoring for experienced photographers
I spent years building a photography business through weddings, portraits, events, relationships, referrals, experiments, mistakes, and a lot of figuring-it-out-as-I-went.
Today, Michaela Joy Photography photographs corporate events, executive gatherings, luxury retreats, weddings and celebrations for clients throughout the Bay Area and around the world.
I didn't get here through a magic marketing formula.
I learned how to build relationships, recognize opportunities, price my work, create an extraordinary client experience, make myself valuable in the rooms I wanted to be in, and eventually build a business bigger than just me holding a camera.
Now I'm opening up what I've learned.
I'm Michaela Joy O'Shea, photographer, entrepreneur and founder of Michaela Joy Photography.
I've been making photographs for most of my life and building this company for more than a decade.
What began as a wedding photography business evolved into a photography and video company working with organizations, founders, executives, universities, investment firms, technology companies and extraordinary humans around the world.
There wasn't a roadmap. I learned by doing the work, building relationships, making mistakes, changing my mind, raising my prices, hiring people, and gradually realizing that I wasn't simply building a photography career.
I was building a company.
And I think more photographers are capable of doing the same.
